@CraigJapan @mindstatex As an aside, how many of your American friends did you meet in Japan? Did they live there and did they all speak fluent Japanese? If not, how did they get by? Could it be that the average Japanese has better English than the average 英語を母語とする在日欧米人 has Japanese?
